Lyrics

"Evil Ways"

You've got to read my email now…Tony
Or who knows what I might do
You've go to choose it... Nigel
Every word that I wrote to you
You've got me mailin’ and faxin’
And writin’ some notes.
You've got me singin’ and jinglin’
For all of the folks
Just put me on...
Right after Shad’s haiku... Tony.

Before you're done... Tony
Right around eleven fifty-one
You play a tune... Tony
By Joe or Jerry or Slim Stanton
We write lyrics to old songs and we dress you down
Each day somebody you don’t know calls you out as a clown
You’re orange and bald...
Lord knows now that won’t change

I like that one, too. I try to much the original metre exactly whenever I can, and keep the rhymes the same too if I can (which "clown" is). My fave line, tho, is "You play a tune... Tony By Joe or Jerry or Slim Stanton" ;-)
